Jeremy A. Jones
Artist and retired Architect
Professional Experience
From second grade through college, Jeremy drew regardless of what the rest of the class was doing. Until 12 years ago, most artwork was scientific or architectural illustration, often starting on 3D CAD. Other projects included glass tile murals, furniture design, stained glass and cast glass window design.
More recent work includes abstract painting in watercolor and water-based oil paints on metal panels. His paintings include travel memories from around the world, local plein air studies and abstract designs. Many paintings emphasize unusual perspective viewpoints or overlap images to evoke distortions of memory.
From 1995 to 2015, Jeremy was a Vice President and design team member for many of the architectural projects for DWL Architects + Planners, Inc. in Phoenix, including several college campuses and buildings, the Mesa Arts Center, the Arizona History and Archives Building, the Appaloosa Library in Scottsdale and the White Tank Library and Nature Center.
The two libraries have won a total of 16 design awards so far. The White Tank Library was the third Library in the United States to receive a LEED Platinum environmental rating. Over his career, Jeremy has worked on over 500 building designs.
He has been married to former librarian Barbara Jones for 56 years and their two creative children have provided five artistic grandchildren!
